On screen display problems after software upgrade

Hello,

I upgraded thinkpad software yesterday gtom Linovo, and after the upgrade all on screen display disappeared ...

When I increase/decrease brightness or adjust volume, I don't see any feedback on the screen anymore. The buttons work, but not the on screen display. Also the "Access IBM" button doesn't works anymore.

I use Windows XP SP2. Any help will be much appriciated.

Not sure what model you have but try going to thinkpad configuration, display, and make sure osd is enabled. This has happened to me after uninstalling some of the thinkpad software just to free up some drive space.

Hey, it's R40 (2 years old).

Well, I found some more problems, so I decided to reinstall the whole machine. Anyway it was a mistake to make sch an upgrade without any visible reason.
