380Z boot problem

#1 Post by andre » Sun Feb 05, 2006 7:50 am

Hi,

I have an old thinkpad 380Z serie 2635 but it is not possible to boot up the thing. The previous user has put a bios password in it and know i'm stucked. Every time when I switch it on it comes with a symbol of a lock in the left upper corner from the screen and waits for a password.
Is there any way to pass this? I have removed the batt pack and the backup battery near the memory in order to solve it but up to now no succes.
I was planning to bring this laptop to live and give it to my dad. The man is 80 years and I made the plan that I would bring him in contact with the pc world and the internet

Is there somebody who can help me out?
Thanks in advance
andre (belgium, europe)

See #12 in the FAQ section.

Aside from that, try asking the original owner for the password.
