RECOVERY DISK QUESTIONS X32 and X22

#1 Post by silo » Mon Feb 06, 2006 5:21 am

Just wondering if this can be done. I bought an X32 that came with recovery disks. Already used them on a new drive in the X32 and they work fine. Now wondering if I can use them also on my X22?

On a slightly different point, how does one get these recovery disks? I have the X22 and a T30 that I'd like to have disks for. Do I just use the Thinkvantage software downloader and then somehow write my own disks?

Yes. You might need to install other drivers, like the video driver.

You can create your recovery CDs only with newer models. Call IBM/Lenovo or ask someone here in the forum.

Actually it won't work. I tried it on my X22 and got blue screens when booting the X22 on the X32 image.

Did you use the IBM recovery CDs or did you use an image created with the x32?
