Do you find this one to be more glossy than a normal matte panel? Is it that much brighter?

Just ordered a Z60m with the 1820x800 MaxBright panel.

Will let you know how it looks when it arrives.

Willgriam, I just got mine and it is not glossy at all  It is very bright to me -so much so that on AC power I need a background light to look at the screen for very long.
I am still getting used to the machine but it is very solid construction and the keyboard feels very solid compared to the Z60T I tried out. I believe it compares very favorably to the T series in these areas.

Just received mine yesterday, and have been playing around with it.

Like velvetsteele said, it's not glossy, but it is very bright, compared to my late T41.

I think the screen is very good, but again, as velvetsteele says i would also recommend some background light when working in a dark room.

Overall build quality is in my oppinion exceptionally good. Way better than my T41. No flimsyness to detect anywere on the machine. Keyboard feels nice and solid, little to no flex. The keyboard has a different feel to it though, compared to the one on the T-series, not better or worse, just different. Also the battery sits very tight, i have the 6cell version.
