T40 - Cisco Aironet 350 802.11b Unable to Activate WPA

#1 Post by yeohkt » Tue Feb 07, 2006 7:16 am

I've install the latest drivers, firmware for Cisco Aironet, Access Connections etc.

Still when I try to connect to WPA -TKIP , there is NO option to select.

I've tried looking in the forum which says disable Access Connections and use only Windows Zero Config - only way WPA could be enable BUT with NO luck.

ONLY WEP is available ?

HELP
thanks

I can't tell if my PMs to you are being sent, so here's the reply I just sent you ...
davidspalding wrote:Ensure you have the latest ACU (6.6.0.0, i think) and latest firmware. (My pc card uses 5.60.21.) You won't be able to use AES due to hardware limitation, so you have to use TKIP.

Hope that helps,

D.
Ah, you did the basics ... through some odd collaboration between ACU and AC, when you create the profile in AC, you have to select "Use Windows to Configure Wireless Network" under Wireless security Type. Click hte button, Authentication Properties.... There, add the SSID you need to connect to, and in Properties, select WPA-PSK, and TKIP for encryption, and enter teh passphrase twice. On the Connection tab, enable Connect when this network is in range.
