Bluetooth IV keep disconnecting

#1 Post by vennstrom » Wed Feb 08, 2006 12:58 am

Hi All,

I got a problem with my BT, before I install onboard BT I've been using PCMCIA bluetooth to connect to my phone for GPRS net connection and I don't have problem with BT disconnecting it self.

And then I bought the CDC card since my T43 had an internal BT antenna, after I install I can connect through my phone for the net but I noticed lately it keeps on disconnecting it self, I have to turn off and on again the BT before I can connect.

First I thought it's the phone problem so..I bought a new phone....but then again the same problem occur.

Can anyone help me? Thanks ( I'm thinking to take out the BDMC card and use my old PCMCIA BT to connect)

Thanks in advance

Are you using the same bluetooth software as your old pcmcia bluetooth? It's more likely that it's software issue.

I did a fresh install on everything when I put the card on (I'm using the IBM Bluetooth IV software)

It was just disconnect again, I thought it was a cellphone signal problem but I went below the transmitter of my cell provider and it's still disconnect.... :?

Haven't try the XP SP2 Stack, I dun know how?...What I understand if I don't install the IBM BT Software, XP will automatically recognize the BT but not in my case...not sure why.

Anyway yesterday I check the IBM web and found there's new BT update for T43, BT Software with Enhanced Data Rate Ver 1.00 - Trying now and will post the result.

Thanks for the assistance :)

Update,

The new bluetooth driver with Enhanced Data Rate is workin fine, noticed that it's very rare disconnecting (signal problem sometimes will disconnect the GPRS but not the bluetooth)

On another note, the new Access Connection 4.11 keeps on powering off the 802.11 so I downgraded back to 3.81

Satisfied with I have now for the time being. Thanks for the assistance.

I've had the opposite experience. The Bluetooth software with enhanced data rate that was recently released for T43/p's (an earlier release was only for Z60's only) kept my BT CDC from staying on.

Now I'm back on Bluetooth IV 3.0.1.918 again, and hacking my way through the jungle of configuring it after installing. Radio stays on just fine, though. Grrrr....

The Bluetooth software is just not good enough. I use BT to synchronize with my iPaq HX4700.

Originally, I use the Bluetooth IV software, and you have to manually install the COM port, and strangely enough, you have to synchronize with IR for once and then you can sync with BT, might be ActiveSync problem though.

Now I use the new Bluetooth with Enhanced Data Rate software, this time, it just automatically installs 3 COM ports! But the BT configuration only shows one installed!

Anyway, the sync still works.
