Battery Case Indicators - What they mean

#1 Post by Elliott » Wed Feb 08, 2006 9:48 pm

This may be obvious, but I am a first time ThinkPad owner and just wanted to confirm the following:

When the ThinkPad lid is closed:

Solid Green Battery = Full?

Flashing Green Battery = ??

Orange Battery = Charging?

Thanks,
Elliott

From my observations, I could be wrong, this is what I think:
Solid green: Battery full and not charging, using AC adapter
Flashing green: Battery near full, still charging
Orange: Charging

Can anybody confirm or correct me? I have X22.
X22 - 800mhz - 640MB RAM - 60GB Hitachi 7200rpm 7k100
X40 - 1.4ghz - 1.5GB RAM - 8GB Transcend 300x CF on Addonics CF/IDE Adapter
T42p - 1.8ghz - 15" UXGA - 1GB RAM - 160GB HDD
X61t - C2D 1.6ghz - 12.1" SXGA+ - 8GB RAM - Intel G3 300GB SSD

That is correct.

Flashing orange: Critically low battery, (typically 1minute for me before the comp dies)
Orange: Charging
Flashing green: nearly full battery, still charging
green: full battery
