Screen T42 vs Screen HP ZT

#1 Post by spoon » Sun Jul 18, 2004 6:35 pm

Hi everyone,
Can someone tell me if there is a big difference between the screen of the T42 14" (I'm interested in the 2378FVU) and the screen of the HP ZT3000?. The last one is WXGA 1280X800 and the size text is greater than in the T42. What I don't know (because I've not seen any T42) is which of both screens is more comfotable to read. Does someone know that?. Thanks

Best regards. T

I don't have any knowledge of the HP, but as far as your other question goes I can't see how anyone could answer that. I have a 14.1" and a 15"w/flexview, for me they are both readable I wear tri-focals if that matters and I prefer the flexview overall. I read and annotate depositions regularly and whenever I need to study a specific paragraph I just use the fn+spacebar to magnify the type, really works well. Just get a thinkpad and if it does not meet your expectations you can send it back within 30 days 8)

The widescreen XGA is basically a 1024 x 768 XGA screen with an extra 1" band down each side. If you are comparing the T series 14.1" XGA screen (1024 x 768), the font size should be similar. If you are comparing it to the T series 14.1" UXGA+ scgree (1400 x 1050), the fonts will look smaller on the IBM.
