LCD melts and then wont reboot

#1 Post by gfinney » Fri Feb 10, 2006 12:23 pm

My daughter returned her T20 to me to remove what she thought were virus problems (I found none), but turns out that the LCD appears to melt after usage. The screen turns into a psychadelic display of colour, creeping into the middle of the screen, then changes to vertical lines. Upon reboot, the screen flickers white occasionally, but mostly blank. I have to unplug and leave for a while, before a proper reboot can occur.

Is the LCD dying?

yes it definitely sounds like it is dying.
it could be the voltage invertor or even just the actual LCD panel dying from usage/excessive pressure
