SDIO Drivers for X40

#1 Post by shfawaz » Sun Jul 18, 2004 8:10 pm

Can anyone post the IBMTools folder (or email me) the IBMTOOLS\DRIVERS\SDIO directory files. I reformatted my drive and need the files to reload. Thanks!

EDIT-GOT THEM FROM DAVID BELOW. THANKS TO ALL!

Thanks a million David. I appreciate your help. To all others, no need to forward drivers, my SD slot is working!

Just curious to know why IBM doesn't post these drivers on the X40 driver/software matrix. I scoured IBM.com, google search, etc, and could not find these drivers. Amazing how such a simple neccessary driver can be so elusive. Thanks for nothing IBM.

Glad to help!

Not a bad idea if they had these posted - agreed. Then again, maybe they assume that if you re-format, you're basically doing a recovery to the system state at the time of shipping, which would include the drivers. Or, that we backup so that those drivers are retained in some form or another. Dunno. But yep, would be good if they had them posted.

That can't be the reason, because they do offer all the other drivers for downloads on their site. It seems more like they just forgot the SD drivers. Maybe someone should send them a mail?

I also need these drivers; anyone willing to send me the files in that directory?

In regard to why they don't include them, the customer support guy who I complained to said it was propietary software and thus they won't distribute it. I don't understand why they force you to use their image just to get the files though; they should make it available on a cd.

Thanks in advance.

The reason they aren't on the IBM site is because they are M$oft drivers, and IBM ain't allowed to post them.

M$oft have included these drivers in SP2... so a clean install of XP SP2 will have them automatically...
