#1 Post by Simoni » Sat Feb 11, 2006 4:36 pm

Hi

When I open easy setup program (hitting F1 while booting) I see inactive icons: "password" and " start up" ... in "config" 4 of them are inactive to...

What can I do to change this situation? I must remove password from my hdd (12gb) but i can''t do it while I'm having this problem....
(I''m trying do upgrade hdd to 30gb)

Any idea?

ps. Engilsh is not my native language --- sorry for mistakes in tekst :)

It sounds to me like you have a BIOS "Supervisor" password set on your machine. You may have a hard drive password set in addition to the BIOS Supervisor password. You cannot change such a password without knowing what it is and logging in with it. Are you not given a chance to type in the password?

For more information about removing BIOS/HDD passwords, see question #12 in the ThinkPads.com FAQ.

Phil.
