Nero Ultra 7 Vs. Z60M - Nero will not install

I un-installed the sonic software.
But Nero will not install.
It extracts the files and exits.
If I Rt. click on the *.msi file, select install.
I get a message from the installer that the install has unexpectedly stopped.
And that no changes were made.
The Nero version is the latest from their web site.
I tried to stop services that I thought may be causing a conflict.
No help there.
I googled news groups for any info. nothing found there.
Any one have any ideas on this?
Before I wipe the entire drive and do a clean install of windows.

At the time I couldn't get Nero 6.6 to install on my T42, but Nero 6.3 installed fine. Nero 7 is not stable enough yet, according to most people who have used it. You may be better off with Nero 6.

Have installed and used nero 7 with z60m, no porblems. I did not uninstall any software that came with laptop before installing nero.
