XGA to SXGA+ on a T40, cable question

I noticed that there are two LCD cable FRU's in the HMM, one for SXGA+ and one for XGA. Is the cable listed for SXGA+ screens absolutly necessary for the switch? Id like to just switch out the panel and not the cable, but if its necessary I guess Ive gotta :p. Thanks

Yes, I've done this swap and the cable is ABSOLUTELY necessary. You can use the same LCD inverter, however.

can i use a panel that has a T43 FRU and doesnt exist in the T40/41/42 HMM?

Do you know the FRU number for the 14.1 sgxa and the lcd cable for the t40 2373 75u? I would like also to do the lcd upgrade for my t40.

FRU for the SXGA cable is 91P6787 and the LCD FRU we have is 92P6760

The parts are specific for the manufacturer (at least for IBM). The cables will DEFINITELY NOT fit.

So with the FRU number that litium gave me i won't have any problems installing tha parts anything else i need to know or maybe a heads up?
