#1 Post by NX1 » Sun Feb 12, 2006 3:19 pm

Right before Windows 98 startups on my thinkpad 600. I get a message Inadequate firmware code. Anyone know what that means?

Sounds like you need a bios update from the Ibm - Lenovo site. There are several updates available depending on your model No, (e.g. 2645-8AU)

Current bios Versions are :

IBET37WW is for an Ibm 600
INET36WW is for an Ibm 600E
ITET55WW is for an Ibm 600X

If you go here : http://www.ibm.com/uk/ and type in your model No, a list should come up. Choose the first link and follow instructions for downloading the bios .exe file of your choice which you can then create a bios floppy from.

I have read somewhere in this forum that a bios update on Cd can be created using Nero etc. bit I haven't tried that option myself yet.

Please let me know how you get on & if I can help you at all, I will.

Regards, beecee
