For information about removing BIOS/HDD supervisor passwords, see question #12 in the ThinkPads.com FAQ.

you may not have to sir.
open the memory expansion lid remove all ram, cmos and main battery
you will notice a 2 prong chip adjacent to the onboard first memory chip(just obscured from the casing ,but you can get to the thing regardless) ,short the 2 prongs whist power on at the same time, allow post proceess to continue till it stops, then after power off +or reef ot the psu connector if you had a password like i did
it should prompt you to set date + cmos errors.
reconnect the cmos battery resett the date and your in buisness.
try along those lines with or without cmos etc to fool the bios .
this applies to all tp 600x sereis laptops
goodluck.

serverbook's procedure will clear the power-on password, not the supervisor password.
And the Atmel chip will not work if it is clear. The BIOS does a checksum test at startup, and if the chip is not programmed correctly, you will get a BIOS checksum error, the machine will not boot, and you're no better off than you are now.

not sure exactly what level the password was
regardless how can one identify the difference?
because that tp600x had the exact same block flags as a tp600e i had
which interm i could not clear the cmos regardless of what i tried(600e)
yet the 600x cleared, till this day i'm confused in respect to that scenario
after all i could not enter the bios menu of either,
can both levels show up and block the pc in identical manners(bar the clearing method)?
i can try for myself but i never ever put any password whatsoever on any pc ever (because i just do not trust the bioses).
