[T41] Cannot find the WiFi driver

Hi,
I just installed XP on my T41. Tried ALL different drivers at the wireless section of Levono site : http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site. ... idate=true
No sucess so far, seems that the laptop doesn't see any wifi connection.

Is there any wifi chip in the T41 ?:roll:

Check device manager, network adapters, if there is one it will show up there.

It depends on the exact model, which is your case is.......?

The model number is in the form nnnn-xxx i.e. 2374-QM6 (a specific example of a T41 model that did not come equipped with a mini-PCI wirless card).

There is a little antenna logo at the bottom of the screen
How can i make sure there is no 802.11 functionnality in it ?

Unfortunately, you don't have any wi-fi card; but it's upgradable. (I have
the 2374-8RG model and it's in the same situation - soon to be solved
anyway - I bought yesterday on ebay a Intel 2100 802.11b card).
Attention - you need a wireless card "for IBM Thinkpad", not a generic
one.

ok thanks, i've also checked the Mac adress : there is no WLaN Mac Adress, so 1 more evidence that no Wifi capability is embedded in the ThinkPad T41 2374-4G6

Any wireless enable T4x is basically able to support whatever 802.11 wireless standard you can get on a compatible mini-PCI card.

I am using both generic and IBM OEM versions of the Intel 2200BG card in various T41 models.... both work fine, though the IBM OEM version integrates with the Thinkpad software, while the generic version is tricker to get installed and doesn't integrate completely.
