t4x touchpad as mini-tablet?

#1 Post by icantux » Wed Feb 15, 2006 11:26 am

Hello,

I've often wondered about whether or not the T (or other series) touchpad could also serve as a mini-tablet for a variety of uses such as annotations, adding signatures to documents, etc... Is this possible? I would presume this would require some addtional software.

Anyone here know if this is possible?

I think there is a driver that lets you use the Touchpad as a digitizer for signing documents; I am not sure about using it as a Tablet digitizer though.

I met someone who looks a lot like you.
She does the things you do.
But she is an IBM.

Hmm, that's interesting! Where would I find this driver?

Too small to be a "tablet" imho. But you can get a good little tablet for < $99, cheaper if you find a used one. Once you've used one for drawing, annotation, or an alternative pointing device ... you'll neer look at the little 1x1 like that again.

Perhaps true - but I was wondering if the small touchpad could be used for some small tasks like using it as a signature pad or something - and whether or not there's some software that could handle that. (using one of those tablet pens, that is).
