#1 Post by john 86 » Wed Feb 15, 2006 6:04 pm

I recently did an IBM software update and I have lost the ability to log on to window using my fingerprint.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks Shay
I have done everything suggested in the link. The fingerprints are enrolled and login enabled but still no joy.
Thanks for your help anyway
Cheers John

John,

You can try what I did and reinstall rescue and recovery.

Thanks Shay
I have tried deliting and reinstalling resque and recovery and still no fingerprint log on. Sometimes I can get the fingerprint log on but with a message that changes I requested will be made at the next restart. After the next restart its gone ? very strange.

Success
I've got my fingerprint reader back. Reinstalling the IBM security package finally worked, I think the problem was that the old version was not fully deleted.
Many thanks for all those that helped.
