largest hdd for a i12xx tp?

Hi. My cusin has a i12xx tp which his wife uses for web browsing. lately their hdd was acting up and you could hear the head crashing on the platter. so i backed up their hdd and now am looking for a replacement drive.

since this laptop is plenty old, what is the max size hdd i can put in there? dont want to risk a buying a 20gb to find it doesnt work.

any ideas?
