NIMH vs Lithium Ion battery question

#1 Post by Roy Slade » Tue Jul 20, 2004 7:33 am

My I-1200 (1161-43u) currently has a NIMH battery. The tag on the bottom of the unit says it contains a Lithium Ion battery. The existing battery has a useful lilfe of about 5 minutes and I want to replace it. I can get a new one for about $60.00 including shipping, but it's Lithium Ion. Will this unit accept and charge both types, or should I hunt for another NIMH battery?

The 1161-43U will work with a Li-ion battery.

Thanks for the response, it also looks like the Lithium Ion battery will run longer between charges.

Probably so, Li-Ion is the more "premium" choice, if you can get that instead of NiMH go for it. Always something to look for in a notebook, phone, mp3 player, . .
