Hi.
I have an IBM TP-T21 with windows 2000 installed in it.
It is still working, and my problem is that after some time
using it, it will just hangup. I have already tried upgrading
drivers downloaded from Lenovo site and it is still
hanging up(almost constantly). Anyone who had this
problem and was able to fixed it in here? Did I forgot
to install some IBM files or IBM configuration?
By the way, I didn't used the IBM recovery disc when
I installed windows 2000 in it.
Thanks in advance.
T21 Hangup
Please provide more information - upon hangup: Will Ctrl-Alt-Del still work? Will the PC do a normal Shutdown when you hold the power button for about a second, or do you need to keep holding it for a longer period?
If the latter is the case, a memory defect might be the reason. Try a memory test software and see whether that hangs the system. If so, you might need to replace the module(s). It's affordable, check around the forum to find out which type of modules you need. Some RAM manufacturers offer lifetime warranty.

responding anymore, right? this doesn't work in my case.
Holding the power button-->> it won't shutdown the notebook properly.
Hold the power button for a long time-->> this is the case of my T21.
I have to hold the power button for a long time to turn it off then power it
up again. When the notebook hangs up, the whole system is not
responding anymore, so I have to force power down the notebook by
holding the power button for a few seconds.
There are also times that the notebook simply (not sure if it powered down
the notebook or just a BSOD) stops working, but the power LED is still
litted up. Is this another symptom of a defective memory?
