I'm using a non-approved drive since February in my T43p and haven't notice any data getting corrupted since then. I have a WD320GB drive...

lukee: thank you for this information, but since I'm using old applications, including DOS applications, I'm someone the 2010 error message is aimed at.

You were right to question "Are you sure the file is present in directory, where you actually are?"
DIR shows that file missing. In fact DIR shows all the files I thought I added to 5k7k100.iso missing and the files I thought I deleted still in it. I used MagicISO incorrectly. Mea culpa.

The three files I need
  • hfui15.exe
  • mbzia6ca.bdr
  • mpba6cab.tbl
are all in Lenovo's fwhd56.iso, so I tried to work straight from that CD. The plan was to execute:
  • copy mbzia6ca.bdr mbzoa6ca.bdr
  • hfui15 oa6ca -pm mbzia6ca.bdr /f mpba6cab.tbl
  • hfui15 ia6ca -pm mbzoa6ca.bdr /f mpba6cab.tbl
After reaching the c:\ prompt the copying worked. The first hfui15 command opened that program and I pressed "U". Instead of the expected "FAIL", this error message came:
  • File size error : mbzia6ca.bdr
Nothing was possible after that.

Why did hfui15 give this error? File mbzi6ca.bdr has the exact same size as files mb2i6ca.bdr, mb3i6ca.bdr, and mb4i6ca.bdr, and fw.pro shows all three of those firmware files operating with parameter table file mpba6cab.tbl. Does hrui15 reject all mb... firmwares? Is my HTS721010G9AT00 drive stuck with mbzoa60a firmware forever?

Note added: I tried hfui1404 (which likes mb... firmwares) in place of hfui15, but it would not accept the HTS7210... hard drive.
