Audible..

Hi,

I was just wondering if the pulsating fan problem in the T41 (2378DMU) would be audible in a classroom setting with 60-70 other students all using various other laptop computers.

Is the noise only annoying to the user or can others be affected in quiet areas? (i.e. the library)

In your opinion, is the fan noise of the T41 unacceptable, or is it a case of users with over-sensitive hearing.

In my opinion, it's just a case of users with over-sensitive hearing. I use my T41 all the time in the library and in class, and it's just fine. I find it only slightly annoying in a very quiet room - since I'm almost always playing music on it anyway, I really never even notice the fan unless I'm compiling something large or doing other very CPU intensive tasks. I find it so unbothersome that I even sleep just a couple of feet away from my T41 that's on.

I have sensitive ears, and it's audible only in a dead silent room. If there's a fan or AC running, or lots of people typing on a keyboard, it's not audible.
