USB Mouse and keyboard act strange in docking station

#1 Post by koolzero » Tue Feb 21, 2006 11:15 am

I have an intellimouse optical usb plugged into my T43p's docking station. When I started working here I thought my mouse was defective because it acted like it would sense a "click" when I didn't click. I called up Microsoft and had it replaced.

I tried my new mouse via the usb port and it started acting the same, so I used the USB/PS2 convertor that it came with and the problem went away.

I just added a USB Keyboard that has a built in USB hub and when I'm typing, keys that I don't type will show up and spaces will sometimes start repeating endlessly on their own. I just updated my bios to the most recent version, and this is still happening.

Does anyone have any solutions?

Does that also happen when you connect mouse and keyboard directly to the Thinkpad? If not, have Lenovo replace your dock.

This has also happened to one other user that had gotten a new T43p and docking station. I gave them a USB keyboard because their PS/2 stopped working.

She called a few days later and said her keyboard was acting weird, that keys were jumping around etc, which is what mine has been doing. Do you think we've got 2 defective docking stations?

A guy in marketing called and said that his microsoft mouse was acting weird like it selected a click that he didn't do. I switched him out with an IBM mouse and he said that the problem hasn't happened. However, this time I switched him from one usb mouse to another.

Does anyone on the forum use a dock with their t43p?

I haven't had a chance to try that but I will.
