a22p 2629UVU system details 700/1000 mhz???

#1 Post by IBM4ME » Tue Feb 21, 2006 2:13 pm

I recently purchased what was supposed to be 1 GHz. When I ran Belarc Advisor it stated the processor was 700 mhz with clock speed of 100 MHz. When I ran PCPITSTOP it said 700/1000 MHz, something I had never seen before then under system details is stated:

Brand/Model Intel Pentium III
Nominal Clock Speed 700 MHz
Measured Clock Speed 1000 MHz
External Clock Speed 100 MHz
CPU Load 3%
Speed Rating 2822 (101% of 336 similar)

Is this just a 700 MHz that has been OVER clocked?

Want to make sure I didn't just pay for a 1 GHz and got an over clocked 700 MHz which I already have as its system details show nominal & measured clock speed to be 700 MHz.

Thanks,
Chris

it is called Intel Speed step
(your cpu can lower its internal speed if it is no needed in order to save some of your battery)
IT IS NORMAL

look here for your system configuration http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site. ... ry=2629uvu

also to double check this when your computers boot up press the F1 to enter BIOS utility, you will be able to see for your own thath you have a 1Ghz cpu
