Cingular UMTS & T60

Do we know when/if Lenovo is releasing a T60 Series with UMTS added (similar to EV-DO from Verizon)?

Saint Louis is getting UMTS over the next two months.

According to this press release:
Cingular-enabled ThinkPad notebooks are expected to be available beginning in the second quarter of this year.
So, expect to see them in April at the earliest.

Do these have a spot for the GSM card? Do you think it would be possible to throw in a T-mobile card (assuming they have UMTS by then)?

I'm sure that when T-Mobile USA upgrades it's network, you'd be able to get a PCMCIA card to install into the T60. It would probably be similar to the following UK offerings:

T Mobile UK 3G (UMTS) Card

UK Vodafone Mobile Connect 3G/GPRS data card

If you really can't wait for the built-in Cingular offering then you could buy a T60/T60P now and then put in a card similar to the above afterwards. You'd also have the advantage of being able to use the card in other laptops quickly and easily.

Looks like Cingular offer a 3G card already:
