X22, 640 RAM, X-Jack Wifi, X2 ultra w Combo - No HD $350

#1 Post by asiafish » Thu Feb 23, 2006 10:41 am

The laptop has a 30GB TravelStar (4200RPM) installed, but it is not recognized, so if you can get the drive to work, consider it a bonus.

The laptop is in outstanding condition. The screen is bright and has no dead or stuck pixels, even the top case looks barely a few months old rather than the four or so years that have really passed.

The keyboard is outstanding and feels much better than the current generation of ThinkPad keyboards (compared to X32) and the battery is near new (about 20 cycles, can't check without a hard drive).

This is a complete package with the exception of a working hard drive. The UltraBase X2 has a built-in floppy AND an IBM Combo Drive IV. There is a 3Com X-Jack WiFi a,b,g (Atheros chipset) card that even works with Linux (MadWiFi) and of course built-in modem and ethernet. It has an ultra-low voltage 800MHz PIII-m processor that is surprisingly speedy even today.

For an additional $100 I can install an 80GB 5400RPM TravelStar hard drive and Windows 2000 (computer has valid Windows 2000 COA but no disks).

$350 shipped ($450 with hard drive)

Thank you both for the votes of confidence. I always prefer doing both buying and selling on the forum.
