X40 standard power adapter vs. 72w power adapter

#1 Post by chintapun » Tue Jul 20, 2004 11:22 pm

I've noticed that IBM has 72w power adapter for X40. Could anyone tell me the benefit of using larger power adapter (72w) as oppose to the standard one that come with x40 (52w?)

Thank you

P.S. I've also notice that x40 on IBM USA has now 1.3 chip. Is it dothan? Does it mean that future upgrade for X serie is comming out soon?

I can answer question two... it's not Dothan. The new 1.4LV is Dothan. As for future upgrades, I hope so, but there's no official news as of yet.

Even with the upgrade to Dothan, 1.4 GHz, with 2mb cache it is still running slower than a 1.7 GHz, 1mb cache on the X31. X31 here I come, before they withdraw em....
