pink csreen

#1 Post by tony6264 » Sat Feb 25, 2006 8:53 am

I just picked up a 570 with 12" display and the screen has a pink cast to it no matter how long it is on....my question is; is this most likely a bad lcd, a bad or loose cable , or something worse? When I hook up to external moniter picture is fine..no pink. Also if it is the backlight or inverter, does anyone know if a 12" display from an I series is compatable replacement?
thanks

The pink is a pretty clear indication that it is the backlight (CCFL).

As for compatibility, I am not sure if the two backlights, but then again, someone used the backlight from a scanner and placed it into an LCD and had it working, even though the backlight was shorter.

This may sound stupid, but is the backlight part of the inverter? or is it something different, and if so how do you gain access to the backlight on a 570 with 12" screen?
thanks

The backlight is part of the LCD. The inverter connects to the LCD.

To get to it, I believe that you would have to remove the LCD.

Note: I haven't performed this process myself.
