I think that the biggest problem right now, is that with the release of the T60 series, everyone is unloading their T23's and everything else for cheap on eBay. I have seen T23s going for less than $300 shipped lately.

Personally though, I would prefer to deal with someone in the forum and pay a little more, because people in this forum have a tendancy to take care of their Thinkpads, since we tend to cherish them so much.

For those that are interested I have dealt with Orevin in getting some parts recently and everything went well. I would recommend this person as a seller.

Also, I might be interested in this system as well....I have someone interested in a 1+GHz system, but I am trying to work with her on the price.

Yeah, you nailed it. With the release of the new models, i have been seeing the prices really drop as they are just unloading the old for the new. Also in combination with Dell selling lappys for 400 bucks brand new, that is also killing the value.

But i too would rather deal on this board, we are more picky and meticulous about our equipment.

As a kicker, I finally got a reply from someone that listed a T40 on Craigslist.com (Chicago) for $450.

He sold it within 15 minutes of posting it.
