currently I don't have any fps games installed on my X40 thinking that it will lead to a shorter life for the TFT or create dead pixels. Has anyone installed and played games like Quake 3 ,Far Cry and any thing like that on their X40? For how long? Is the Intel 82855 graphics card up to the tasks of rendering decent graphics and speed?
Responses appreciated.

Anyone playing fast games on their X40
Feb 2008=Thinkpad X61s; 2x faster than X40 but not as asthetic.
Dec 2005=Thinkpad X40; perfect, but bigger than 240x.
Jan 2005=Thinkpad 240x; used; fast but dead pixels doomed it.
2003=Thinkpad 240; used,
1998=new Toshiba Tecra 740CDT. Pricey, heavy & last 5 year.

Gaming is not very fun on the X40 due to the low end gfx.
I have played Starwars : Empire at war on my X40, but it was a bit laggy.
But one game that is really fun (that works very good on the X40) singleplayer is Duke Nukem Manhattan Project.
A rule of thumb could be that you generally can't play games (so that they are playable) released after Quake 3.

The only games I really cared for was Quake 3 Arena and Citizen Kabuto.
If it plays Q3A, that's all I really want on my X40. How many FPS did you get on time demo 1 and 2 on Q3A?
I don't know what this Intel 82855 graphics card is equivalent to in terms of Nvidia Geforce but I know, it's lowered than a Geforce2.
My thinkpad 240x LCD had a string of dead pixels just a week after installing classic games like Tie Fighter. I don't know if it was coincidence or not but after running Tie Fighter, my LCD would blink a lot.
-I wish Lenovo would have a X series laptop option to beef up the graphics card to Nvidia standards like what Dell did even though quality might suffer due to the extra strain a fast graphics card would put on the X laptop. Maybe it's best to play it safe without the games; that is what desktops are for(but I don't want one).
