Neen help please

I have a R32 ThinkPad I had a DVD but it didn’t work because i bought a used one. And i bought a DVD RW i plug in but the computer didn’t regencies that is a new hard ware I check at the bios i check a new hardware but it didn’t work Please is any one to tell me what to do if i need to download any driver for this or what

P4 1.6 Ghz
30 Gb hard disk
512 ram

What operating system did it come with? XP? OS2? Windows2000? win9x?

What do you mean by it didnt work? Did it show up as "D" drive? Is it just not playing dvd movies?

For XP, click on START, select RUN and type in sysdm.cpl and click on OK
Select HARDWARE then DEVICEMANAGER and look for yellow !
You need to get rid of those first.

Dear friend My compuer come with Wind XP 1 and i up date to windows XP2 The dvd didn't show as D drive and in the Devicemenager didn't show as the yello driver.So the computer don't show that is new hardware

reboot, get into cmos setup and verify that the ide controller is enabled and that the cdrom shows up. Else you got a hardware problem.

Didn't know if R32 is upgradable to DVD-RW...I got only the DVD/CD-RW.
Is it a external USB DVD-RW???
