Replacing HD

#1 Post by noeffort » Mon Feb 27, 2006 10:59 pm

Plan to replace HD with 80GB 7200 8mb cache in T41.
I plan on installing XP os from scratch on new hard drive. I don't care about saving any programs or OEM software from my old HD. Has anyone done this? I upgraded my old 600x this way, but I understand the T41 may not be as easy.

Thanks in advance.

If you have a Retail Win XP CD (with it's own product key), it should be a piece of cake. Otherwise, look at the Sticky at the top of the Windows OS forum on how to do this.

i have one concern over here.
7200rpm hd, might get ur laptop overheat or heat dissipation is even more compare to the original 4200rpm hd on T41.
