BIOS flashinf a TP i1300 question

#1 Post by oldgrandpainmi » Tue Feb 28, 2006 10:57 am

Hello all,
I receintly flashed my bios on this older TP to a newer version, based on the Lenovo/IBM website, to the newest version available for this model. I know the previous owners of this laptop didn't upgrade. They didn't know what BIOS was or even meant. Before I flashed it, my BIOS revision was listed as 1.000. After the flash, the display states that it is still 1.000 and the system confirmed the BIOS installation. How can I tell if it took? Should I redo it? I had no problems before or after, and don't notice any difference. Just curious.

Did you go into the BIOS afterwards and click on "Initialize"?

I flashed the BIOS again and the Windows loader confirmed the install at the a: prompt. When I enter the BIOS thru the F1 key durring boot, it still says it is version is still 1.00p. There does not seem to be any kind of install key in the BIOS. The Windows system discription says something totally different than 1.00p, but don't have the info handy right now.
