T40/P and fan problems

#1 Post by kungpow » Thu Mar 02, 2006 2:31 am

When I stat winXP the fan shuts down after a short time. But if I open eclipse (an editor for programming) and use it until the fan starts and then shut it down again, the fan never stops running!

I can then restart the computer and it works fine again. But why does it never stop cooling after I close eclipse?

no idea, but you can try updating the BIOS and the embedded controller firmware to see if that fixes it.

Updating the Embedded program and BIOS might help.

But I had the same problem, and I changed my fan to M10 longfan, and not its so silent that I cant really tell if its running or not... really pleasent, and I might add that I am pretty difficult in respect to noisy computers...

You can catch me on rauff ad daimi.au.dk if you have any q's about it...
