Audio volume problem on a TP i1300

#1 Post by oldgrandpainmi » Thu Mar 02, 2006 8:37 pm

Hello all,

I wasn't going to write, but I can't pin this one down.

I have full volume on WinXP and associated software, but when it comes to my DVD and CD player, the volume is so low that you must use earphones to hear it. I changed from the EOM cdrom to a CD/RW-DVD combo with no difference. The WinDVD 2000 driver I use for the DVD has worked perfectly in other applications. I currently use WinXP Meida Player for the CD's.

Am I overlooking something? I've been thru everything I can think of.

Is there a speaker icon in your taskbar tray anywhere? If so, double click it and adjust the appropriate settings.

If there isn't an icon in your taskbar tray, go to Start Menu, Programs, Accessories, Entertainment and then click Volume Control.

Yes, I did try all of the EASY things already. WinXP settings do not change the low volume problem, regardless if adjusted thru the taskbar or control panel. It isn't the drive, as I have stated, because I've swapped drives. I've been thru all of the driver software and set preferences, to no avail.
One thing I did omit. The music is effected regardless if it is played directly from CD or played from a saved song file. But the startup music of WinXP and normal usage sounds are not effected. When I start AOL at full volume, the "Welcome" and "You have mail" sounds can be heard across the house.
