That's GREAT! What was your Estimated Ship Date prior to shipping, though? Was it today? I'm just wondering if I can expect mine to ship on the date provided, too.

I wonder if this forum is going to be as much fun once we all actually have our T60s?

It's tantalizing to speculate and debate about what they'll be like. And to count down the days until we get them. But once we have them all the posts are going to shift to problems that people have, little annoyances, bugs.

I mean, I'll be excited to work on a machine that's far superior to my current one. But I still wonder if anything can really be better than the anticipation?

My original estimated ship date was 03/13/2006. I received my carrying case and an extra 9-cell battery within a week of my original order.

When I placed my order, my sales rep thought 03/13 was optimistic and suggested that early April may be the actual ship date.

When I talked to him yesterday, he thought that 03/13 was going to be a realistic ship date. Imagine my surprise when I received an email this morning that it shipped!

New ESD: 3/31/06 **called to change an item and dropped 10 days!!!

Note: I don't think this actually sped anything up, just caused the estimator algorithm to re-run.

I ordered mine on Feb 20, and until yesterday the shipping date was Mar 28th. Then when I checked the web site this morning it said your order has shipped! Wow! Mine is a 200773U T2500 2 ghz 1GB/100GB 15" TFT.
I'm really looking forward to this one. My previous ThinkPads:
600, T20, T23, T30, T42, T43.

I just ordered a T60 tonight, the 2623D6U specifically. I spoke with a Lenovo rep who seemed to know what he was talking about. He said 3-6 weeks till it ships (even though the website immediately shows 3 weeks). I ordered an extra 1GB of RAM, and he said that having it pre-installed might add another 2 weeks to the order, so I ordered it non-installed and will just do it myself. He stressed that the T60s are very popular and that the custom configs are running more like 8-10 weeks. I figured it didn't hurt to put in the order now since they don't charge you till it ships

After I put in the order, I took a look at the MacBook Pro specs some more. I think the ThinkPad compares pretty favorably, except in the videocard department.

Some T60s are showing up on other vendor sites as being available. I haven't heard anybody with a T60p on order say their thinkpad has shipped yet. I know the FireGL V5200 is a new GPU so I wonder how much extra of a delay this card will add to the delivery of the T60p.

I ordered a 2007-83U on 2/1. After the hopelessly optimistic ship date of 2/24 came and went, it's been stuck on 4/7 ever since. I wonder if it's the T2600 or the FireGL V5200 that's causing the delay...

My $$ would be on the new ATI chip being the delay. Intel is pretty good about ramping up production on new procs...

I just called UPS and they said my T60 (200773U) left HK this morning and will be delivered to me in California Mon 13th... Outstanding. This is the first ThinkPad I have purchased sight unseen. So, I'm really eager to see what it looks like with the new updated form factor.

I have not seen them in stores, what I've seen in the past are ThinkPads that other users have. I usually wait to see how they fare before purchasing. This time the specs were so compelling that I just decided to order.

I talked to a Lenovo rep today and asked if he thought 4/4/06 was being realistic. He thought that was a "conservative" ship date because T60's have started shipping recently.

Now that's strange. I ordered my 2623DDU on 3/4 and the expected delivery is 4/10. Nothing extra I ordered all that after.

I ordered a 2007-83U (T60p)

Order Date: 2/17/2006

Initially the estimated ship date was 3/27/2006. But yesterday I clicked the "I agree to the delay" link and after that my estimated ship date got delayed to 4/4/2006.

Similar experience here.

Original order date 2/24...

ETA was originally 3/31.

Today, I clicked the "agree to the delay" link and my ETA is now 4/05.

200786U - T60p 2.16 GHz ordered 3/13 and I got the serial # today, which means it'll ship out tomorrow.

The bad news... I got the Hydis (FRU 13N7061) 14.1" SXGA+ LCD. I was hoping to get the TMD screen. My keyboard FRU is 39T7118, I don't know who makes that one. To top it off, I got a crappy Sanyo battery. I don't know if Sony still makes them.
