I hope it arrives earlier than scheduled cuz I already sold my previous T60 (2623D6U) and my wife is already complaining that I'm using hers (20074UH).

So it appears that all the 2613 custom shells are going to get built up and shipped around mid July. That sorta implies that Lenovo has been waiting on a certain component, but given the wide range of reported 2613 orders in this thread there seems to be no identifiable component commonality. Hum....

The common component is the Red rubber trackpoint cap....

I have to find some humor here as I'm still waiting for my T60p ordered many months ago... :?:

Very quick delivery

#463 Post by IBMThinkpad » Tue Jun 27, 2006 7:49 am

Hi all,

Strange that the 2613 series is taking so long since Lenovo wants to go to this custom order format rather than the traditional IBM format of listing the tabook models. Nevertheless, I got my new T60p 2623-DDU yesterday morning. I called the sale rep at Lenovo and got a quote for it on 6/19. I ordered it on the 23rd, received a shipping confirmation on the 24th and it arrived via UPS at 9:30AM the 26th at my residence. No custom additions except for an extended next day 9-5 on site service agreement. I was shocked to see such fast delivery since the sales rep told me I would receive it within two weeks. The machine was in tip top shape no dead pixels and everything worked flawlessly.
T42p: 2373-HBU; 1.8GHZ Pentium M, 1.5 GB RAM, 60GB-7200rpm HD, 15" UXGA,

T60p: 2623-DDU; T2500(2GHz), 1GB RAM, 100GB 7200rpm HD, 15in 1600x1200 LCD, 256MB ATI FireGL V5200,

7/19?

The 2613 don't seem to be too far behind, estimated at 1.5-2.5 weeks it looks like. Brutus' and own6volovos' 2613 T60Ps ordered a day or two after mine but estimated to ship a week before makes me jealous

1.83 ghz Core Duo
14.1" 14xx*10xx res
ATI X1400
6 cell battery
Ultrabay battery
512 mb memory (to be upgraded to 2x1gb from newegg)
ThinkPad/Atheros WiFi
100 gb 7200 rpm hdd
4x DVD/CD Burner
XP Pro

own6volvos, how are you going to take advantage of dual cores with XP Home? or are you just planning on using your own copy?

I have a 15 dollar copy of XP Pro from school ;). Saving the 70 bucks from the difference for another stick of 512.

Ahh, haha, same thing here. Mine's $14.15 :P I didn't want to bother with calling MS up if I wanted to reformat more than twice b/c of the "2 installs" rule on the student licenses. That could just be at my school though.

FYI: When I talked on the phone to my Rep assigned to my order, it appears to be the HD's that are causing the delay. Every single part of my laptop is in stock but the drive. 40-60-80-100 were all like this.

I asked the same 2 weeks ago and at that time the issue was specifically with 7200RPM drives, not 5400 units. My unit has been pushed back twice to 7/13 but yesterday I got an E-mail saying it shipped 6/27! I odered 60GB 7200RPM

Hello everyone--

I ordered my T60p on 6/20, with a projected ship date of 7/3...

it's a 2613ETU (15", 1MB, 80GB@5400, 9-cell)

This is my first laptop, so I'm extremely excited-- :)

Here's something I just saw today on the configuration page (I wanted to see if my config was any cheaper than when I bought it... it's not  ) but it wasn't there when I ordered:

14.1" SXGA+ (1400x1050), 128MB ATI Mobility Radeon X1400 [add $170.00]
(This selection will delay your order by 5 business days)

Here's to hoping we beat the delay.

Update:
Just saw this today...

Status: Shipped on 06/30/2006
It also says tracking info not available till tomorrow morning. But if it really ships today (6/30) then this beats the original estimated ship date by one week.

When I ordered from the Lenovo site my 2613-EBU (custom, T2500, X1400, 9 cell, 14.1", 1.5GB, 60GB 7200RPM):

Web order on 5/15 with anticipated 1-3 weeks delivery

Confirmation E-mail next day on 5/16 jumped to 4 weeks (classic Lenovo bait & switch) with a due date of 6/12

On 6/13 new E-mail from Lenovo with updated ship date of 7/10. Apparently they did not know until that day that they would miss the ship date by 4 weeks (insert sarcasism)

I'm not very confident in the new ship date. Every Lenovo I've purchased has slipped. What's aggravating is that they don't earmark inventory for your order. (other stuff snipped)
To finish this up, last week it moved out a little bit more, from 7/10 to 7/13. I figured in a odd way that was good - if they are fine tuning the ship date, they have a pretty good feel for it, right? Not exactly... it shipped on 6/28! That only mildly surprised me since Lenovo can't seem to schedule thier own birthdays. The surprise though was that it showed up on my doorstep today - a little less than 36 hours later from Hong Kong and UPS considered this "delayed". So, while I ordered ground shipping, it seems that Lenovo spent the big buck on overnight - from half way around the world. They earned some brownie points with me today :-) I am happy to be one of the forum members suddenly being flooded with 2613s

It was delivered this morning at 9:36!

AWESOME turnaround on delivery-- receiving it from Hong Kong the day it was originally slated to ship :)

Happy Independance Day indeed!

hello,
I am a new member to this forum, and i hope i will not violate any of the admin rules. as i think this is a great forum.
i am waiting now for my new T60p which is by the way my first TP, eventhough i have always thought IBM thinkpads are the best.
i did not order it directly, in fact i am from Lebanon and i do not know if anyone would deliver it to me. i have a friend in the US and he is getting it for me. he is expecting to receive it on the 11th of July and he will be in lebanon on the 22nd, so i guess i will be waiting him in the airport.
sorry i do not know the exact number he ordered and honestly till now i do not know the differences between all the models, still i know it will be like this: t2500 2.0 ghz duo core, 14" SXGA, V5200 FireGL, 100 GB 7200 RPM, BT, WIFI abg, DVDRW, fp reader.
i am so excited and these are going to be the longest 15 days.
i will inform you all about my news when it happen.
thanks all and happy to be a part of this forum
