I've seen mine jump around while I was waiting, but it arrived way before the est. ship date, if it is a configured model it will take a little longer. It's worth the wait if that's any consolation.

My 2613EAU was suppose to ship today. Guess what, it didn't. The system's been pushed back to August 1st, my ultrabay battery to July 27th.

Ordered 6/29/06, initial shipping date 7/14/06.

Changed today, the day it was slated to ship, to 8/01/06.

Called service rep, and asked why. I was advised after being put on hold at length that "the memory is missing", but "everything else is ready". "they recieved an email today" stating that the memory would be "in house in two business days". The rep assured me that my unit would ship "a couple of days after that". For what it is worth to this thread. I am not really happy about it. But I will give them the two business days and then some.

you should NEVER NEVER order anything MORE than just the thinkpad..
if you DO, you will often find that some insignificant part of the order will hold the whole thing up..
as you see has happened here..

when i was buying from ibm i would place two smaller orders..
not just one large order..
and thus grab those models that were waiting for memory upgrades or the like..

all this, of course, before ibm stabbed me in the face AND back..

It's funny... I ordered the Kensington security cable lock as well in my order (it lists separate expected ship dates for my system, my extra battery, and the lock) and it was suppose to ship the 17th. I checked it on the 17th and it said it would ship on the 18th. I check on the 18th and it says it'll ship the 19th. Checked it today and now it'll ship tommorow.

The system is still slated to ship August 1st and the Ultrabay battery July 27th.

Yay got my T60 today, one month and one day after ordering. However, it came with a 5400 rpm 80gig drive when I ordered the 7200 rpm 100 gig drive

Can anyone explain why lenovo is so slow? I've waited 4.5 weeks now, without any progress. (this is in Canada, BTW).

Maybe I'm just spoiled by ordering things from Tigerdirect that usually arrive in less than a week, but this is pretty silly. The only time I remember any order taking this long from anywhere involved a scammer on ebay.

It's especially annoying since I ordered when I did, knowing that 4 weeks (the maximum estimated shipping time) would give me time to get the laptop before leaving on a trip. Now it looks very unlikely that I'll get it before leaving... I wish they'd be a bit more honest about the times up front - it doesn't seem like "3-4 weeks" actually happens that often, from what I'm reading here!

If you ordered a configured system, that sometimes takes longer. The only machine I got within a three week time period was not a configured one.

You should email or call your sales rep, and inquire.

I'd also read this thread from the beginning to get a feel for others ship times. There is even a graph in one of the posts.

No, mine's not customized at all - only 'add-on' was a warranty.

I called them last Wednesday (the 4-week point) and they said "should ship soon". But that's the same thing they said when I called the week before.

Might take longer in Canada though.

Ordered a 2623DDU from Lenovo's "Student & Alumni" section w/ an extra 1gb of DDR2 and 3 year Thinkpad Protection on 7/30.

Estimated ship date: 8/17... I hope it ships either on or before that date because I leave for school on the 30th. Shipping also wasn't free, which I think it was supposed to be (?). I'm excited though, as it'll be my first laptop.

It arrived today! Hooray!

The great thing was that I was just about to pick up the phone and see if I could get some kind of a hold placed, so that it wouldn't be delivered when I was out of town. Just as I went for the phone, UPS arrived! And about 15 minutes later, I got an e-mail from Lenovo saying that it was about to ship!

I'm glad it's here, but I still plan on calling them up to complain - there's no reason they couldn't have sent that e-mail last week when it actually got shipped. (and I still say it took too long! (5 weeks)
