ARGH... I think it was that 1.5GB RAM upgrade....
It says in progress up until it ships, so if it's not on a plane it says in progress, so it could possibly there is a chance ship tomorrow even though the status has yet to change even once.

Where are you obtaining an online order status? I'm in Canada, and the Lenovo Canada site doesn't seem to have that functionality - I could e-mail them with my order number but I don't want to harass them if its already on its way anyways.
Cheers!

Hard to say. I ordered the T60 widescreen on 11/29 with 1 gb (1 sodimm), and it has been shipped and I got a UPS tracking now (coming from HK).

Did you order a customized one or a pre-configured one?

I think the pre-configured ones are ready-to-ship.

What time did you start the build with him? The guys that work at night start their shifts at 6pm IIRC.

shipping times

#733 Post by geebertos » Fri Dec 01, 2006 6:36 pm

Quick question for those who have recently ordered and received their T60's -

How many business days does it actually take to ship? My order says 2 business days, but that seems quick considering that it is coming from Hong Kong.

I ordered on 11-26 that was a sunday, the machine shipped on 11-29 and i recieved on 12-1. I got it on time even with a plane breaking down in Hong Kong. I opted for the free shipping I dont know how many days that is supposed to take I assumed it would be 3-7 days. for me though it was only 2 days. GO UPS.

Ordered on 11/14. Estimated shipping date was 12/08 but shipped on 11/30. However, the UPS tracking record shows it's still in Hongkong... The estimated delivery date is 12/06, not sure if it could arrive.

Kind of make sense to me. I think UPS pick up ur order on 11/30, but remember, 11/30 is U.S time, In china, it will be Friday which is weekend and UPS wont work overnight to ship ur order. I do believe your tracking record will be changed on Monday. You are very lucky, gettin ur order so eariler. I have been waitting my order for 2 weeks already.

My T60 must be going on the same plane as yours. ;) My status also showed shipped on 11/30 and UPS estimate delivery date of 12/06. But the last entry in the tracker is still

Exactly the same tracking record! Hope there would be some update tomorrow. Also, I checked the warranty status with the serial number, it shows 1-yr limited service. However, I purchased the 2-yr depot repair plan. I called lenovo but they didn't see anything wrong. Probably I should check it when it arrives.

Thanks. different shipping dates may be due to different configurations. When I ordered my first T43 last Oct., I received it within two weeks. This time probably they have too many orders to process. Fortunately, I could have the T60 with me on my trip.

Well, Ronan, I'm named after saint christopher and it was once said to me that he's the patron sainat of lost causes and thieves! maybe that helped? if you go for the invisible guy in the sky theory. Otherwise I believe Lenovo revamped their line of on sale computors for Xmas rush. Did you place your order before they changed the site around for the sale?

I received my laptop today!! It looks great, but so far, all I've done is take it out of its packaging and verify that everything I ordered appears to be there. I ordered it on Nov 14, so that's about 2 1/2 weeks... not bad :)

Got my Advanced Mini-Dock package, too - it included the dock, a spare "ultranav" keyboard, a nice little compact optical mouse, and a 1 GB USB memory stick - nice sleek black IBM with an orange light when its operating. It comes with software to require logon (protecting one's data). The spare keyboard comes with a sleek little case of its own and has USB ports on it. I'm not really sure WHY one would need an external keyboard with a laptop like this, but the entire package cost about the same as a mini-dock by itself so why not?
Cheers!

Mine has finally shipped 12/05.

I had ordered a T60p on 11/14 with an estimated ship date of 12/08

I did get the 1.5GB RAM so maybe that was part of the delay.

Can't wait! :D
