T43p x300 Locks up with newest IBM vid driver

My t43p with the 64 meg ATI x300 vid card keeps locking up whenever I play graphic intensive games. It gives me the error:

The driver ati2dvag for the display device \Device\Video0 got stuck in an infinite loop. This usually indicates a problem with the device itself or with the device driver programming the hardware incorrectly. Please check with your hardware device vendor for any driver updates.

In my event viewer. I downloaded the latest drivers from the thinkpad site, v8.163.1.1-051004a1, but my problem still persists. I've also tried different versions of the Omega drivers with no success. Any ideas? My guess is Thinkpad needs a new bios upgrade.

My first t42 ordered new from IBM gave me that same error, i had to send to back for another, luckily i was in the 30 day window. And yes i tried everything tech support told me, google, there are a vast number of fixes out there, nothing worked.

Yeah, I thought the t43p used the fireGL card for more advanced graphics work.

ok I believe I was mistaken its a t43, sorry for the model mismatch but does anyone have any information regarding the actual reason I made a post here?

Hmmm...I might of found a strange fix. I seem to only have the issue when I used my power supply from my T42. The powersupply from my T43 seems to fix it. Strange stuff
