no, it will not work on an X31.

All X series notebooks use BGA chips, they are soldiered to the motherboard.

If you want a faster chip, you have to upgrade the entire motherboard to the X32 board, or just the 1.7ghz X31 board. I believe hammerheadtech.com still has some of the 1.7ghz boards for ~$250.

I was wrong i check with the serive manual and no you cannot use this CPU.

lithium726, You are correct it will not work it is soldered in the motherboard.

it should work just fine... are you 100% the board is functional?

maybe the T43's microcode doesnt include Banias? o_O

Doing this pin mod on a 2GHZ dothan, how fast will it run , 20 x 133 = 2660 ? or will it be capped at 2.13

it might actually take to the 2.6ghz speed as long as the processer is capable and well cooled please post your results if it works ill eventually buy one and do it as well

and if anyone that previously wrote in this forum is reading this the only 400mhz fsb proc the t43p boad has the possibility of taking(as said on Intels site) would be a celeron M, the benias did not work in t43p and when i put in my fiance's 1.86 donthan it worked
