Try clicking on Start,, Access IBM, and then Battery Maximizer Wizard.

Go through each page clicking next, and on the 4th page or so, there is a section called "Battery MaxiMiser Guage", check the box that says "Show Battery MaxiMiser Gauge on Taskbar"

OK, so you downloaded it and the program right there?

Did you download it through Software Installer, or it you download it on your own?

If you downloaded it on your own, that was most likely only the unpacking of the files. You might need to go to something like C:\DRIVERS\WinXP\Battery and fine the setup file and run that.

The exe file you download manual only "unzips" the files so to speak. it doesn't actually install the program.
