upgrading t42 ram

#1 Post by eric13 » Sun Mar 05, 2006 6:46 pm

i have a 2378REU t42 and i am thinking of upgrading to a gig of ram or more. it came with 512mb already but i am not sure how to upgrade it.
does anyone know of a website or a forum topic that would have instructions on how to go about doing it? would my t42 have 2x256megs or 1x512 installed already?>
thanks

If you take a few minutes and do a little Googling on the T42, searching for the maintenance manual, they have a guide that shows you how to install the ram. To get to the 512 that came with the machine, you'll have to take the keyboard out. To install into the second dimm slot, it's accessible on the bottom.

Check out Crucial.com for prices, I think gig chips are around $157 right now.
