T41 - Incorrect CPU Speed

#1 Post by gmgfarrand » Mon Mar 06, 2006 3:51 pm

Ok,
I have set all the CPU power management disabled.
Most of the time when I cold boot, the CPU speed is correct at 1.6ghz but alot of the times I put it into Hibernation, when it comes on, it reads 599mhz.
Any way to "lock" the cpu speed ???

just reset the power config to "always on" once youre back in windows, if its not saying like that im not sure there is a way to do it all the time.

curious, but why? Itll ramp up when its needed, so why waste the power, generate the extra heat, and keep that fan for nothing? not to mention that higher temps inside the case = reduced life for all heat sensitive componentes, basically everything.

You can also set CPU speed in the BIOS. At least that is the case with my T42.
