hi all -
I just bought me a t42 (1.5Ghz 400Mhz bus). really pleased that there is this thinkpad only site.
I read that the current intel chipset doesn't support the 400Mhz bus. Just 333. Is this something that will be able to be upgraded (bios?) once intel improves the chipset (expected later this year?)?
If it can be upgraded, wouldn't it be better to buy some PC3200 memory for it now?
TIA -

pc3200 or pc2700 memory?
its 400 mhz quad pumped, which means 100 mhz fsb, however, the memory runs async with the bus at 333 mhz ddr (pc2700). no need to spend extra on pc3200, this isnt something they will be able to fix in the bios, it a chipset limitation. so unless you will be buying a NEW thinkpad with a NEW chipset, stick to 2700
