Waiting for delivery of T60p. Any carrying case decisions?

#1 Post by collector_edi » Tue Mar 07, 2006 2:26 pm

I know this has been discussed at nausea in the other categories. Nonetheless since the T60 is a new breed, I was wondering if anyone decided on a carrying case. I am leaning toward something light [thinkpad and notes only] and carrying a second bag for books, folders, accessories etc.

Any decisions made on the carrying case?

try www.sfbags.com

I've purchased several and they are all SUPERB. Gary is the owner and very attentive to emails.

I bought the medium Cargo and sleevecase #11 for my T43 and I plan to use the same for my 14" T60. I sometimes use the sleevecase on its own (it has its own removable shoulder strap) when I don't need to anything other than my T43. highly recommended.

Thank you. I am leaning toward leather. Any good leather cases? I do not like the attache design that Thinkpad promotes. I think Targus makes it.

I briefly tried the IBM Leather Attache (made by Targus) and was very impressed by the quality. they are $129 at thinkpad.com but I've seen them elsewhere for around $60.

there is also the leather ultraportable which would be fine if you're getting a 14" T60, though I personally have never tried one.

Tumi and Brenthaven also make some very nice cases so I would check their sites.

let us know what you end up buying. - john

Nice bags at both sites. A little pricey for my budget. Targus is beginning to look nice again. I liked this item however the thinkpad is not listed on the compatability page.

This is probably not what you're looking for, since you mentioned leather, but I've received a Crumpler Luncheon, and it has an inner laptop sleeve that (apparently, from published dimensions) fits the 15" T60p snugly.

I was insistent on going for something that's not plain black, and I'm very pleased with the appearance of this bag.

I'm open to all suggestions. I did take a gander and still leaning toward leather or nylon.

Thank you...

if you want a REALLY nice bag, go to www.timbuk2.com . build your own bag out of ballistic nylon.

I checked out Tumi tonight at the store in Georgetown - I'd still take my Waterfield Cargo any day of the week, but it's decent.

fullauto - that is some funny stuff. you have a blog or something I could check out? dry wit is my drug of choice

I decided to go with the Leather Attache. I received it yesterday and I am please with the quality. I wanted something executive looking and light to compliment the weight of the notebook.

I am still waiting for the t60p scheduled for delivery 3/26th.
