IBM wifi mini pci connects slowly!!

ok i have the IBM/Intel 802.11b v.92 Mini-PCI card
i installed it and upgraded the drivers and firmware.
however it takes about 20 mins before it connects to my network.
it will say it has detected the network.
i click connect
and then i have to wait at least 20 mins before it connects to the network.
other than that it works fine.
just that it takes 20 mins to connect.

anyone know a fix?

I reinstalled my A31p last week, - twice.. the first time I had the same problem with my wlan, - it took from 5 to 10 minutes to connect, - and my old tp600 worked as allways, - instantly... The second time I installed everything (I also had weird problems with my bluetooth), I installed everything before using Windows update, - and now it's better.

The single update that caused my problem was this : Critical Update for Internet Explorer 6 Service Pack 1 (KB831167)

if I apply it, - it'll take from 5 to 10 minutes to connect, - if I remove it again, - I'm connecting instantly..

don't know if you're lucky enough to have applied this update recently, - so you can remove it again, - just though I'd mention it
