Hard drive upgrade on z60t

#1 Post by manugarg » Tue Mar 07, 2006 9:12 pm

I ordered thinkpad z60t and I'll get it day after tomorrow. I bought the one on the sale. It has 40GB hard drive. I am planning to upgrade this to 80GB.

I am planning to use Hitachi TravelStar 5k100 80GB 5400rpm -

Before buying this one, I want to be sure that it will work with z60t. Please let me know if anyone has tried upgrading hard drive on z60t? If yes, which hard drives are supposed to work?

Also, though not as important, which hard drive comes on standard z60t.

Thanks in advance.

A 2.5 inch harddrive will fit thr z60, and yes you can put a 7200rpm HD only watch out for the noise.

It also has to be a 2.5" SATA drive.

thanks for reply guys. looks like all 2.5" SATA hard drives are supported by z60t. I am going to give Hitachi 7K100 a try.
