T40 - Fn+F7 doesn't work, and screen flashes sometimes

I did a format and reinstall last night. I am getting two problems:

1) Fn+F7 does not bring up the Presentation Wizard or alternate between LCD, VGA and LCD+VGA modes. It worked fine before. I have tried installing the Lenovo software and uninstalling it with no success.

2) Every so often my screen will blink two times, succinctively and together within 5 seconds. These few "flashes" happen maybe once every 7-10 minutes.

Suggestions?
